At a glance
The cost of a pool is not only the pool itself. It is the dig and removing the soil, access for the machine, the equipment you choose, the edging and surround, heating and the paperwork. We list all of these separately in the quote.
What raises the cost
- Rocky ground or a high water table
- Difficult access, where digging is done with a mini excavator or by hand
- Overflow with a balance tank
- Heating, automation, counter-current swimming
- Expensive surround materials: natural stone, marble over large areas
Where you can save
A smaller pool with good equipment is usually a better investment than a large one with cheap equipment. A skimmer pool instead of overflow, a smaller surround, a simple shape. Do not save on the pump and the cover: that is where the running costs of the years ahead are hiding.
Technician's tipAsk for every option (heating, lights, cover) to be shown separately in the quote. That way you decide what goes in now and what later.
Running costs
Beyond construction, a pool has yearly costs for electricity, water, chemicals and minor upkeep. With an inverter pump, a cover and automatic dosing, these stay low. A prefab pool needs no painting and no re-grouting.
