A pool with a shallow area: children play, parents relax
A three-year-old and a twelve-year-old want different pools. The answer is not two pools, but one pool with the right geometry: a shallow, wide zone at the start and swimming depth further on.
A family pool is designed in zones. Full-width steps, then a shallow area of roughly 60–90 cm, and a gentle slope down to the deepest point. Changes in depth are marked with colour in the membrane or along the edge.
Steps that are a playground
Small children spend hours on the steps: sitting, climbing down, climbing back up. So we make them wide and low, covered with non-slip membrane. A parent can sit on the top step with water to the waist and stay right next to them.

A gentle slope, not a sudden drop
Where the floor changes depth, it does so gradually, with no “cliff”. A prefab pool allows this without extra work: the slope is shaped in the base, before the membrane goes in.

Questions & answers
What depth is safe for children?
It depends on their height. In the shallow zone we aim for children to stand comfortably. No depth is safe without supervision.
Is the membrane slippery?
The floor membrane is no more slippery than tiles. On the steps we use a special non-slip, textured membrane.
Can they dive?
We do not recommend head-first dives in private pools of this depth. We add depth markings and explain this at handover.
