Clean and remove the cover, raise the level, refit the fittings, start the filter, vacuum the floor, adjust pH and shock-chlorinate. In a few days the water is ready.
The steps
Clear leaves and water off the cover before removing it, so they do not fall in.
Raise the level to the middle of the skimmer.
Refit plugs, lights and anything you removed for winter.
Start the pump and backwash the filter.
Vacuum the floor and brush the walls gently.
Test and adjust pH first, then shock-chlorinate.
If the water is green
Do not panic and do not drain it. With good filtration round the clock, correct pH and a shock dose, the water usually clears in a few days. If you cannot manage, send us a photo. See pH and chlorine.
Technician's tipNever drain a membrane pool without asking. Without the weight of the water, the membrane can shrink or be lifted by groundwater.
Winter closing, for next time
In autumn: clean thoroughly, balance the chemistry, lower the level below the skimmers, drain the pipes that are at risk of frost and fit a winter cover. The pool stays full all winter.
