A cocktail pool is not for laps. It is for sitting with friends, water at waist height, a drink on the edge and light from below. Small, shallow, with benches along most of the sides.
A cocktail pool is a small pool, usually up to 4 × 3 metres, about 1 metre deep, with wide benches in the water. It is designed for sitting and company, not swimming.
Benches, not laps
The heart of a cocktail pool is its benches. A wide step on two or three sides, about 40–50 cm deep, seats four to six people. The membrane covers the benches too, with an anti-slip texture where you step.

Warm water from April
With only a few cubic metres, a small heat pump warms the water quickly. A cover keeps the heat overnight. Add massage jets to the benches and it comes close to a spa.
Light and atmosphere
One or two LED or RGB lights are enough for a small pool. The edge becomes a side table, and with timber or stone around it the pool joins the garden seating.
Raised or in the ground
A cocktail pool can sit half above ground, with the wall at seat height. Digging is smaller and the edge becomes a bench from outside too. See the pool on a sloping plot and the rooftop pool.

Can children use it?
Yes, the shallow depth helps, but always supervised. For play and swimming, see the family pool with a shallow area.
Does it need a filter like a normal pool?
Yes. It has a filter, pump and disinfection, just smaller.
